Nothing annoys partygoers more than artists refusing to show up for a gig. Most partygoers not only direct their anger at the event organizers but also tend to become destructive.
Last weekend in Makwassie, partygoers were seen destroying the main stage and setting musical equipment on fire following Makhadzi’s failure to attend the event.
In place of a performance from Makhadzi, an unknown artist was seen performing which led to the party goers thinking they were fooled and lied to by the organisers, resulting in the destruction of the whole event.
Items destroyed includes stage equipments and speakers, which is estimated to run into thousands of rands.
No arrests has been made yet and the management of Makhadzi hasn’t responded to the sad turn of event. For now, we can’t confirm if the event organisers lied about the coming of Makhadzi or it was Makhadzi who failed to show up. But if there’s one thing we have learnt over the past couple of years, it’s the ability of organisers to lie about their party lineups.
