The 27:27 album by Nontokozo Mkhize is currently one of the biggest gospel project at the moment and one track from it that is racking up numbers is “Buyelekhaya,” a song she did with Thami Mthabela.
Nontokozo Mkhize is the future of Gospel House music in Mzansi. The 27-year-old vocalist is notorious for creating what she refers to as songs that strengthen our relationship with God, our maker. Although treading on a relatively new path that not many have treaded, she is bringing her experience as a chorister and composer to what most mainstream artists have, and with her strong Christian background, she is setting the tone and trying to redefine the scope of Gospel music in the country.
A couple of days back, she delivered a completely stunning EP that has strengthened the faith of the brethren, and one track from the album you don’t want to sleep on is “Buyelekhaya.”
A collaboration with Thami Mthabela, this song sees Nontokozo Mkhize express deep appreciation to God, backing every verse with the words of the Lord.
