As Xowla’s Stallion label continues to take shape, much is expected of him, and for this reason, he has delivered to us this comprehensive collection of bangers called “Genesis Chapter 1.”
Launching a new record label is like building a house from scratch. While Xowla has already built a huge following and strong presence in the South African Afropop scene, he did so under Inkabi Records and with the guidance of Big Zulu. Now that he’s operating under his independent Stallion label, he’s expected to stand on his own, and that’s exactly what he aims to do with all the experience he has gained over the years.
Officially unveiling his label, along with the artists signed to it, to the South African music mainstream, the versatile artist has returned with a stunning album titled “Genesis Chapter 1.”
“Genesis Chapter 1” is a 12-track project featuring collaborations with Shwi Mantombazane, Khuthuza, Mjolisi, Navigator Gcwensa, Bonakele Myeza, and other signees of Stallion Records. If there’s any album you can’t afford to sleep on, this is definitely one of them.
