Xowla is about to shake both the Afropop and Maskandi scenes with his forthcoming album, Stallion.
Originally from Malvern but now residing in Johannesburg, Xowla is an artist and emerging talent known for his genre-defying sound. An Afropop and Maskandi powerhouse, he has mastered the elements of these styles and, so far, has made the best of them.
With the successful launch of his independent record label, Staliontainment, Xowla aims to take these sounds to even greater heights and establish them as go-to genres in South Africa. At the same time, he intends to give his label a strong start, and this album fits perfectly into that vision.
With less guidance from Big Zulu following his split from Inkabi Records, Xowla is set to pour all his energy into this project, and the result could very well cement his reputation as a leading figure in the South African music scene.
