Kelvin Momo cancelled his one-man show that was scheduled to hold in Durban this weekend due to bad weather.
The concert was one of the most anticipated events for fans of the “private school piano” king. With full attendance expected, the show was gearing up to become another successful outing for Kelvin Momo in Durban, until the weather disrupted everything.
While the groove was building and reaching its peak, heavy rain and strong winds began blowing in different directions. Tents started collapsing, and the sound equipment was exposed to wet conditions, posing serious risks. As a result, the event management had to call off the show, and attendees were evacuated.
“Due to severe weather conditions, including strong winds, a decision was made to immediately suspend and close the event in the interest of public safety. The safety and well-being of our guests, staff, and all individuals present remain our highest priority. No heavy rain / storm was predicted or expected.
This precautionary measure was taken to prevent any potential risks or harm that could arise from the adverse weather conditions. We appreciate the cooperation and understanding of all attendees during this time,” a statement from the event organisers read.
