Mr Thela over the weekend proves that he is the king of Gqom with his Intsika album. And tracks like “Cruel Combo” with Lakhe Cruel Boyz are the reason his claims to the throne remains valid.
2026 has turned out well for Mr Thela. If they had told us that he would release some of the biggest songs on the charts, many would have doubted it, but look at what we have now! His “Wo Lo” single with Mihlali The Guy, Dankie Boi, Cairo CPT, Sino Msolo, and Konke is currently smashing through the charts, and just while it is at it, the producer has served us with another scorcher via “Cruel Combo.”
“Cruel Combo” is one of the lead songs from his recently released album, and this is one of those tracks that unfolds in a gorgeous explosion of heavy bass and electronically influenced Gqom beats, endlessly building in intensity while also getting listeners soaked in pure groove.
Mr Thela has played the tune nonstop at clubs all year long, and we are finally glad that the full release is out. Playing to this one, we can now see why a Mr Thela & Lakhe Cruel Boyz collaboration is a ‘Cruel Combo‘
