Music is a universal language. Regardless of what sound you lean on, two distinct people can easily fuse to deliver magic behind the decks and Shimza & Kabza De Small have just proven this to be true once again with their newest mixtape that was recorded during performance at the Cape Town VII.
The way veterans move is different from the way emerging talents do, and this mindset is what separates seasoned artists from newcomers. With an already established presence and carrying much of the Amapiano genre on his shoulders, one might expect Kabza De Small to stick strictly to the Amapiano sound and avoid exploring other genres that could threaten the dominance of the sound he has helped pioneered.
However, that is a move only emerging minds would make. Although he pioneered Amapiano and continues to help keep it alive, Kabza De Small’s goal has always been to create music that makes people dance and heal. Whether it’s Amapiano, Deep House, Soulful House, or even 3Step, he plays and produces music that suits the mood. When he performed with Shima at Cape Town VII, house music was what the atmosphere demanded, and he delivered a flawless set.
This mix runs for over an hour. Take a listen below!
