One of Amapiano’s foremost pioneer, Ntokzin has returned with a star-studded EP called “Nhlanhla.”
The resurgence of Ntokzin is not talked about enough. Just when we thought the scene was moving very fast past him and even some listeners feared the piano culture he helped cultivate had left him behind, like it did to some of the earliest veterans of the sound, he surprised us with a big comeback that saw him reoccupy his original position.
His recent hit track, “Hleka’Nabo” with Moscow on Keyz, Zeenhle & Macfowlen, remains one of the finest piano offerings ever released, and you could tell that it was well received by fans, as it amassed over 20 million cumulative streams across digital platforms. Continuing to follow the changes that have continued to sweep through the Amapiano sound, Ntokzin has delivered to us this collection of 7 tracks called “Nhlanhla.”
“Nhlanhla” boasts collaborations from the likes of Thukuthela, Njelic, Zar Keys, Mkeyz, De Mthuda, Zee Nxumalo, Josiah De Disciple, Sino Msolo, Da Muziqal Chef, and more. And the 7 tracks that make up the EP showcase Ntokzin’s production abilities and are as diverse as they come.
