Tycoon has given us his own interpretation of “uMoya,” a song by that was originally performed by Darque alongside Zawadi Yamungu & Atmos Blaq. Taken off Darque’s studio album, Open Your Eyes, the song has been the go-to House record by most Deejays and now, Tycoon has returned with an Amapiano rendition.
The remix culture in Mzansi is very strong. For Amapiano, renditions of some known hits gave the rising genre the visibility it needed. Keeping up with this tradition of remixes, Tycoon has returned with “uMoya 2.0,” his remix of Darque’s newest hit, and on this one, he preserves Zawadi Yamungu & Atmos Blaq’s distinctive styles while updating the production for a contemporary Piano sound, and he did it with the assistance of Soulful Disciple.
The remix reframes this melodious House song, fusing it with Amapiano flairs for diverse settings, allowing it to resonate differently in the heads of young listeners and festival environments.
The uMoya 2.0 remix was reframed, we might be forced to believe that this one might outdo the original. Well, this won’t be the first time a remix will completely displace its original content.
