Semi Tee Wins Legal Battle Against Former Label

For months, Semi Tee has been having a legal tussle with his former record label Jozi Entertainment, and yesterday, the court ruled in his favour.

Going forward, Semi Tee will be able to release productions independently without the interference of Jozi Entertainment. The court ruling has also compelled his former label to provide all the finial details in connection to the money Semi Tee has made from his music performances over the past couple of years.

Semi Tee who is well known in the Amapiano mainstream for his Labantwana Ama Uber hit single with Miano & Kammu Dee has been under several restrictions by former label, which has made him not been able to release any of his works until recently when he dropped his long awaited ‘Ramaila’ under his independent label.

A statement from Swmi-Tee announcing the conclusion of the legal battle with Jozi Entertainment reads: ‘Dear Family It is with great pleasure that I announce that I won a court case against my former record label at the Johannesburg High Court. The court has cancelled the recording and management agreement that I was locked in and has also ordered the record label to provide my lawyers with all information in connection to the money it made from my music, performances, and name. Shout out to Malebo Mahlebogoane and Matlala & Associates @matlalainc for excellent legal representation. This has enabled me to release my latest project, Ramaila, independently and it is doing quite well on the streaming platforms.’
