When Dj Jaivane & Record L Jones released their ‘The Reconciliation’ album in June of 2024, we thought they have resolved their crises and are back together for good, but it seems we have been wrong.
A couple of hours ago, Record L Jones took to his socials to call out DJ Jaivane for his refusal to pay him royalties for the chart topping “Ubusha Bethu” single that just hit 7 million streams.
Record L Jones revealed how DJ Jaivane and his Simnadi records laid claims to the masters of the track even though it was recorded at his studio and no production cost paid to him.
‘We just hit 7 million streams on “Ubusha Bethu”🔥 we trying to resolve issues with Simnandi Records & Djy Jaivane Sa #simnandi to pay us our royalties, because things were not done correctly at first from both parties.
It’s very important to follow all music laws before releasing a track as a Record Label. I didn’t even receive production costs for this track but they want to own the masters! We recorded this track at my studio Record Kollectors Series and even designed the artwork & have the project with me. I’ve made copies and left all the evidence in separated places if ever anything happens to me.‘ – Record L Jones stated.
Unlike before, when he would just rant online, Record L Jones has now threatened to take legal action against DJ Jaivane. Even if it means cutting ties with everything related to Simnandi Records to recover his profit, he says he’s ready to do so.
Record L Jones also revealed that he is willing to sit down with DJ Jaivane to settle the issue like proper adults, but the Simnandi boss isn’t making things easy.
“I always try to resolve issues maturely but it seems like my kindness is being taken for granted. We being treated like dogs, I will fight to get our money. If it means I should cut ties with DJ Jaivane I will cut ties with him & fight in court. I’m tired of being victimised.
I’m standing up for my self cause I did my best to Reconcile with DJ Jaivane but when it comes to the matter of “Ubusha Bethu” we can’t sit down & talk like adults and solve this like ma Grootman.
I will keep you updated on this matter as I got statements from SAMBRO and will get more assistance from them regarding this matter. Radio loyalties etc.
I hope we will resolve issues as soon possible because I tried talk to DJ Jaivane but he doesn’t want to talk to me and resolve things without court, he took me to her manager and I should to talk her, she was not even our label in 2020. I won’t let this go down without a legal fight! I did my best to resolve things behind the scenes! I have all the evidence. If ever have I have to show it evidence I will. A lot of artists are afraid to speak up because they scared. I’m not scared and I will not be victimised anymore, a lot of things has been happening and I have been quiet 🤐 I only worship God 🙏🏾not people. I told Jaivane and her manager that I’m doing my best to manage this situation professionally but they don’t listen. I didn’t want to come to social media but the treatment I’m getting forced me. This is just the beginning! I will post all evidence if I have too cause people on social media victimise us when we talk about such issues.” He further added
